Choosing Curiosity

Even during the pandemic lockdown, the TED organization has provided us with highly useful and inspiring ideas to help us be the most we can be. I just watched the video presentation by Australian Julia Dhar entitled “How to Have Constructive Conversations”.

Every day in the news we hear about people who are failing to do just that. Politicians, activists and family members are having clashes rather than conversations. Julia offers some practical advice for changing the dynamic.

In addition to her TED Talk, Julia has co-authored the book “The Decision Maker's Playbook: 12 Mental Tactics for Thinking More Clearly, Navigating Uncertainty, and Making Smarter Choices” which promises to be an easy-to-use, how-to toolkit to improve managers' decision-making, using visualizations, relevant examples and actionable checklists that cater to its main target group: analytically interested, busy managers and entrepreneurs. I haven’t read it yet, but plan to very soon.

But first things first: give her video 10 minutes of your time. I think you will find it worthwhile. Click here to watch:
