Three Videos Worth Watching

We’ve been talking a lot about women leaders in this blog. So I set out to find some other topics. I turned to some of my sources of inspiration: TED Talks and RSA Animate videos. Well, I found some very interesting ones, but somehow the topic of women leaders still emerges.

The first one is a talk by author Hanna Rosin who reviews startling new data that shows women actually surpassing men in several important measures, such as college graduation rates. Do these trends, both US-centric and global, signal the "end of men"? Probably not -- but they point toward an important societal shift worth deep discussion. Watch the video (16:13) by clicking here.

Then in a short video presentation (4:11) at TED, the often provocative Arianna Huffington (The Huffington Post) tells a room full of mostly women that the way to get to the top is to sleep your way there. BUT WAIT, she isn’t suggesting what you might think. Watch the short video to discover her simple tip, which could work equally for women and men. Click here to watch (4:04).

Roman Krznaric.jpg

And finally for today, a video (10:29) from Britain's Royal Society for the encouragement of Arts, Manufactures and Commerce (RSA) with nothing to do with gender issues. Roman Krznaric is a cultural thinker and writer on the art of living. He is a founding faculty member of The School of Life in London, which offers instruction and inspiration on the important questions of everyday life, and advises organizations including Oxfam and the United Nations on using empathy and conversation to create social change. In this video he speaks about empathy and “The Power of Outrospection”. I hope you enjoy the videos and, as always, urge you to sign up to receive our blogs.
