Critical and Strategic Thinking

Are you a good critical thinker? Are you a good strategic thinker? Do you know the difference between critical and strategic thinking? Do you use both to make the best decisions?

I know about someone who does know the difference, and she has been offering her insights on free videos at InLearning (formerly Lynda.com), a service of LinkedIn. I am talking about Becki (Ginsberg) Saltzman, founder of Applied Curiosity Lab. She likes to refer to herself as her company’s Chief Curiosity Seeker.

Check out her recorded lectures on Critical Thinking for Better Judgment and Decision-Making at https://www.linkedin.com/learning/critical-thinking-for-better-judgment-and-decision-making/critical-versus-strategic-thinking-2. This online course is composed of mini-lectures. You can watch the ones that most interest you or participate in the complete course.

And let’s not forget about creative thinking, the third kind of thinking. Creative thinking is when we “think out of the box” and come up with new solutions or brand-new ways of using old solutions. Use the search box at the bottom of this page, and you will find many references to the use of creativity in this blog.

Use of all three of these thinking types will produce the best solutions to the issues we face.
