During the discussion I ran out of time to talk about one German Christmas tradition that I had wanted to mention. It has become traditional for Germans evey Christmas to watch on TV a short video production entitled “Dinner for One”, the story of an elderly lady of some means, presumably a widow, who hosts a Christmas dinner for the deceased people in her life. She is served by a loyal manservant who does his best to simulate the guests being present.
There is a brief introduction in German followed by the feature “Dinner for One”.

There will be no blog post for the next two weeks as we take a break.
Happy holidays!
