Workplace Thinking Styles

In a well-organized team everyone has tasks to perform and roles to play. But they also approach their relationship to the team in a particular style depending on their individual personality. Mark Bonchek and Elisa Steel explored those styles in a 2015 Harvard Business Review article which I believe is particularly relevant today as many of us work more distanced than we ever have before.

Bonchek is the founder and Chief Epiphany Officer at Shift Thinking. Steele is CEO and President of Jive. They made it easy for us to get into this topic with a video of less than 2 minutes in length. (Click the image to watch the video.)

By understanding your working style and those of your fellow team members, each person can be assigned tasks which they are best suited to perform, not just based on skills but also based on style. Learn more by reading Bonchek and Steele’s Harvard Business Review article which is available here.
